About the Chapter

The CenCal Chapter of WESTOP was founded in 2003 to better serve the unique needs of students and professionals across California’s Central Valley and Central Coast. As WESTOP expanded, CenCal emerged to ensure local representation, stronger advocacy, and targeted support for our TRIO programs which includes underserved communities especially low-income, first-generation, and disabled students.

Today, CenCal proudly connects 22 colleges and universities, amplifying opportunity and access across the region  Historically, many of these campuses have been part of our network, and while some may no longer be directly involved, our commitment to advocating on their behalf remains strong. During the annual Policy Seminar, we continue to meet with their members of Congress to ensure their voices and the students they serve are represented. Advocacy never stops.
